JACKSON, Tenn. (AP) — The owner of a medical clinic in Jackson has voluntarily surrendered his nursing license after an investigation by the state Department of Health into allegations including drug abuse.
The Jackson Sun reported (http://bit.ly/1wLQhja ) John Michael Briley agreed to give up his registered nurse license and advance practice nurse certificate in a consent order approved by the Tennessee Board of Nursing on Friday. The voluntary surrender carries the same effect as a revocation of the license and certificate.
Briley was the owner and a nurse practitioner at Primary Care Specialists in Jackson.
The order does not require Briley to admit guilt, but he acknowledges the state has enough evidence to prove the allegations in a contested case.
