SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — A decade after a BYU student vanished in China, Utah's congressional delegation is asking U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry to try to find out what happened. Lawmakers from Utah and other states sent a letter to Kerry urging him to direct the State Department to review all aspects of David Sneddon's disappearance. Sneddon was last seen in the fall of 2004 while hiking in a remote region of western China near the Tibet border.
CEDAR CITY, Utah (AP) — Police are investigating after a man was found dead at a Cedar City home last night. Police say officers found the man dead from an apparent gunshot wound around 10:30 p.m. Police are interviewing two people of interest. The victim will be identified after the notification of next of kin.
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) — A federal appeals court has rejected a challenge by environmentalists who sought a review of plans in New Mexico and other Western states that aim to reduce haze-causing pollution. A handful of environmental groups questioned the EPA's decision to allow New Mexico, Utah and Wyoming to move forward with their plans.
OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — Enes Kanter scored 27 points to help the Utah Jazz defeat the Oklahoma City Thunder 105-91 in a preseason game last night. Kanter even made two 3-pointers — he's only drained one in his three-season career. The Jazz shot just 40 percent from the field in the first three quarters, but outrebounded the Thunder 40-27. They remained in control throughout the fourth quarter.
