Ebola spreads by contact with bodily fluids, such as through a break in the skin or someone with contaminated hands touching the eyes or nose.
SURUC, Turkey (AP) — Turkey says it's allowing Iraqi Kurdish fighters to cross into Syria to support their brethren fighting Islamic State militants in the key border town of Kobani. It's been under siege by Islamic State fighters for weeks. On Sunday, the U.S. airdropped weapons and ammunition to the outgunned forces for the first time.
GARY, Ind. (AP) — Police investigating the slayings of seven northwestern Indiana women whose bodies were found over the weekend said Monday they believe it is the work of a serial killer, and that the suspect has indicated there could be more victims going back 20 years.
BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) — Louisiana's health department has announced a proposal that would prevent sexual assault victims for having to pay for their treatment in emergency rooms. Currently, women who don't file a police report aren't eligible for reimbursement. A college student who was assaulted said she was expected to pay a $2,000 bill her insurance provider wouldn't pay.
DETROIT (AP) — The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is warning people whose cars have been recalled during the past two years for faulty air bag inflators to take them to dealers right away. The problem is an inflator mechanism that causes metal fragments to fly out when the bags are deployed in crashes. More than 20 million vehicles in the U.S. are equipped with the faulty air bags.
