WASHINGTON (AP) — A Caribbean cruise ship carrying a Dallas health care worker is heading back to Texas -- after being refused permission to dock in Cozumel, Mexico. The passenger had handled a lab specimen from the Liberian man who died from Ebola in Dallas. And she's being monitored for signs of the disease. But officials say she poses no risk, because she has shown no signs of illness for 19 days. She's voluntarily self-quarantined on the cruise ship, the Carnival Magic.
AKRON, Ohio (AP) — A CDC official says a Texas nurse who has Ebola indicated she "felt funny" and spent extra time resting during a visit to Ohio in the days before she was diagnosed in Dallas. Dr. Chris Braden says the woman didn't have typical symptoms of Ebola when she flew to Cleveland a week ago or when she visited family in Akron last weekend. But he says health officials can't rule out the possibility that her illness began last Saturday, or possibly earlier. Officials say they're monitoring the health of 16 people in northeast Ohio who had contact with Amber Vinson.
WASHINGTON (AP) — A trusted White House adviser is being put in charge of the nation's response to Ebola. President Barack Obama is making Ron Klain his point man on the fight against Ebola at home and in West Africa. He's a former chief of staff to Vice President Joe Biden. Meanwhile, the World Health Organization is admitting to mistakes in failing to contain the outbreak that is still spreading out of control in three West African countries.

The Dow has been more than 300 points higher -- at the end of the week that saw some wild market swings, amid concerns about weaker growth in Europe. Homebuilder stocks rose following a report that U.S. home construction picked up last month, and energy stocks gained as the price of crude oil turned higher. Markets in Europe have also made some big gains today.
WASHINGTON (AP) — Federal Reserve Chair Janet Yellen is sounding an alarm about widening economic inequality in the United States. Speaking at a Boston conference on economic opportunity, Yellen said America's longstanding identity as a land of opportunity is at stake. She said the gap between the rich and everyone else narrowed slightly during the Great Recession, but has since accelerated.
