OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — The Oklahoma State Board of Education has approved a contract with a new testing vendor to conduct about 50,000 end-of-instruction tests for high school students this winter.
The board held a special meeting Friday and approved the contract with Measured Progress to conduct the exams. The contract is for about $3.4 million.
The special meeting was required after the board decided last month not to approve a $2.8 million contract with CTB/McGraw Hill — the same company responsible for back-to-back years of testing glitches during the high-stakes examinations.
Some school administrators have raised concerns that there won't be enough time to train on a new testing system for December.
