Owners Clint Lewis and his wife, Shelly Huyn, have connections with orchid growers around the world and bring in only the freshest and most colorful plants. After 15 years of being in business, they're known across the Wasatch Front for the quality of their inventory.
Shelly's department is events and fresh-cut flowers. Her background is in sculpture and fashion design, with a degree from the Fashion Institute of Technical Merchandising. Her experience has transitioned naturally into floral design so Orchid Dynasty does flowers, design and delivery for wedding parties all over Utah.
Clint handles the growing and design of all the orchids. He's always had a passion for plants and loves working with orchids so much, that he now classifies it as an addiction. He loves sharing his knowledge and expertise with clients of Orchid Dynasty.
To give you an idea of the dedication both Clint and Shelly bring to Orchid Dynasty, they self-financed the company when they launched it 15 years ago. They came up with the concept, wrote their business plan and secured a location, only to have the landlord back out at the last minute. However, that didn't stop them, and without any seed money they opened the business. For the first five years, Clint worked two jobs so they could continue supporting themselves with their new venture.
