Romney hosting the fundraiser and rally for the former Saratoga Springs mayor at Thanksgiving Point in Lehi. Love is running to replace outgoing Democratic U.S. Rep. Jim Matheson in the 4th Congressional District.
SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — A Colorado ski resort says Salt Lake City can't market itself as Ski City USA because the winter sports title is already taken. Steamboat Ski Resort contends Steamboat Springs, Colorado has long been known as Ski Town, U.S.A., and claims in a new lawsuit that Salt Lake tourism officials violated their trademark when they rolled out the Ski City marketing campaign last month. Utah tourism officials had no immediate comment.
PROVO, Utah (AP) — Health officials are warning people to stay away from bright green algae in Utah Lake after a dog died shortly after playing in the water. Utah County Health Department officials issued the warning after getting a report about the dog's death. State water quality official Carl Adams says algae sometimes produce toxins that can be harmful to humans and animals.
ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) — BYU's season took blow when it lost starting Heisman hopeful quarterback and leading rusher Taysom Hill to a broken leg in its loss to Utah State last week. The Cougars will try to rebound tomorrow night when they visit UCF, which has won two straight and is home in Orlando for its final non-conference game of 2014.
