COEUR D'ALENE, Idaho (AP) — Democratic governor candidate A.J. Balukoff came out swinging against incumbent Republican Gov. C.L. "Butch" Otter during the first debate today between the two candidates. Balukoff attacked the two-term incumbent for leading Idaho to what he called a low-wage economy. Otter defended his record, painting a sunnier picture of the state's economy.

PLUMMER, Idaho (AP) — Authorities are searching for a man wanted by U.S. Marshals who fired shots at officers during a pursuit near Plummer. The Benewah County Sheriff's Office tells KHQ-TV that John Crispin fled from Coeur d'Alene Tribal Police late this morning. He was last seen fleeing on foot after a chase on U.S. Highway 95.

TWIN FALLS, Idaho (AP) — The body of a woman found floating in the Snake River will be buried without being identified. Twin Falls County Coroner Dennis Chambers tells The Times-News that the woman's fingerprints have been entered in national databases. There was no identification on the body when it was found by a kayaker Sept. 9 near Centennial Waterfront Park.

KETCHUM, Idaho (AP) — A recently hired Blaine County School District trustee has resigned after he was charged with grabbing a 16-year-old boy by the neck at a summer concert. The Idaho Mountain Express reports that this is the second resignation that's taken place on the central Idaho school board within the last year.
