ARTESIA, N.M. (AP) — State officials say a precautionary advisory for customers of the water system of a recreational vehicle park in Eddy County has been lifted.
The state Department of Environment earlier lifted a boil-water advisory it had issued for water systems along the Pecos River in Eddy County because of the threat of contamination from heavy rain and flooding.
The department on Thursday announced it has now lifted the advisory that it had kept in place for customers of the SKP RV Park located south of Artesia.
That now-lifted advisory recommended use of an alternative source of drinking water, such as bottled water.
The department said it has inspected the park's system and that recent test results indicate that the water is safe for human consumption.
