SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — A former FBI agent is pleading guilty to charges that he derailed an investigation into military contract fraud by making a suspect appear to be a key counterintelligence source. A defense attorney says retired agent Robert Lustyik Jr. pleaded guilty to 11 federal charges. Charging documents said 52-year-old Lustyik agreed to thwart a Utah-based investigation into a company started by former soldiers. No sentencing date has been scheduled.

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — The family of a 14-year-old boy who committed suicide outside a school in a Salt Lake City suburb has reached a settlement with the school district. The family said David Phan said he had been bullied. The settlement includes an undisclosed amount of money. The district also agreed to implement polices to prevent a similar event from happening.

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Officials say northern Utah's Hill Air Force Base will start seeing its new fleet of fighter jets next September. The Air Force says 72 of the new F-35s will be sent to the base. The Salt Lake Tribune the new jets are expected to create 475 jobs.

LAS VEGAS (AP) — A Nevada transportation official says it could take two week and cost up to $2 million to repair a section of Interstate 15 damaged by flooding in recent days south of the Virgin River resort town of Mesquite. The damage near Bunkerville isn't far from a stretch of I-15 near Moapa and Glendale that washed out after intense rainstorms and flooding Sept. 8.
