IDAHO FALLS, Idaho (AP) — A southeastern Idaho woman police say lied about what she knew concerning the killing of another woman is facing a charge of accessory to first-degree murder.
The Post Register reports (http://www.postregister.com/node/63908) that 22-year-old Kayla Bennett of Idaho Falls was taken into custody Tuesday and later that day released on $50,000 bond.
Adan Arroyo is serving a life sentence for the January 2013 murder of Kristy Aschliman.
Police say Arroyo fled the scene of the killing on foot and Bennett picked him up. Sheriff's deputies later helped Arroyo and Bennett free their vehicle before Arroyo became a suspect.
Police later questioned Bennett and she said she didn't know what Arroyo had done before picking him up.
But a witness at Arroyo's murder trial said Arroyo told Bennett about the killing.
