KETTERING, Ohio (AP) — Prosecutors in southwest Ohio have charged a 14-year-old student with inducing panic in a school bomb threat earlier this month.
The Montgomery County prosecutor's office says the child is the first charged in a series of six bomb threats left in bathrooms at school buildings in the Dayton suburb of Kettering this month. No explosives have been found in any of the cases.
The Dayton Daily News (http://bit.ly/1wLkWKh ) reports that the 14-year-old will face a second-degree felony in the Sept. 5 threat at Van Buren Middle School.
Police say three others have been arrested this month in connection with bomb threats at Van Buren and at Oakview Elementary. They say an 8-year-old arrested Sept. 8 after the two bomb threats at the elementary school will not be formally prosecuted.
