MISSOULA, Mont. (AP) — A high school principal in Missoula who was suspended for violating a district policy regarding staff ethics will remain on paid leave for the remainder of the school year and then retire.
Missoula County Public Schools spokeswoman Hatton Littman said Monday that former Sentinel High principal Tom Blakely will receive the remaining $90,483 due under his contract.
MCPS officials have not publicly said why Blakely and vice principal Libby Oliver were suspended on Aug. 29 for five days, but Superintendent Alex Apostle has said Blakely's suspension was for violating a staff ethics policy.
Oliver was reassigned from Sentinel to Hellgate High School as vice principal and dean of students.
