LAS VEGAS (AP) — Authorities say a man is dead after being shot in a backyard northeast of downtown Las Vegas.
Police say the incident happened about 5:30 a.m. Sunday on Kolanut Lane, near the intersection of Pecos Road and Owens Avenue.
Investigators say the victim was at the home when a male suspect walked into the yard and started talking with him. The conversation turned into a physical fight before the suspect pulled a gun and shot the man several times.
The victim died at the scene.
The suspect fled the area on foot. Police hadn't arrested anyone as of midmorning Monday.
Clark County coroner's officials have not yet released the victim's identity.
