SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — A former assistant city attorney and his two adult sons who are accused of manufacturing a marijuana byproduct in a basement lab waived their right to an evidentiary hearing as their attorneys work with prosecutors on a plea deal.
The Deseret News reports (http://bit.ly/1m91SVB ) that prosecuting attorney Rob Neill said he has made an offer to attorneys for 51-year-old James Wesley Robinson and his two sons: Alexander Robinson and Zachary Robinson.
Neil said the case appears headed toward a resolution that would allow both sides to avoid trial.
Robinson worked more than 13 years in the Salt Lake City attorney's office. He was fired in February following his arrest.
He and his sons are charged with drug-related offenses. Police say they found $26,000 in cash, scales and guns in their house.
