CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) — The Nevada Assembly today continues a special session considering an unprecedented package of up to $1.3 billion in incentives to bring Tesla Motors' $5 billion battery factory to the state. The Senate is expected to begin debating the biggest part of the incentive package for the electric-car maker: up to $1.1 billion to finance the abatement of Tesla's various property, sales and use taxes, in some cases for up to 20 years.

RENO, Nev. (AP) — A homeowner accused of murder and attempted murder in the shooting of two unarmed trespassers in Nevada has pleaded not guilty to the charges against him. KOLO-TV reports Wayne Burgarello's next court date is set for Oct. 15. The 73-year-old former schoolteacher's case that has drawn attention to Nevada's "stand your ground" law.

LAS VEGAS (AP) — Nevada transportation officials say it will be several weeks before the portion of Interstate 15 north of Las Vegas that was devastated by floods is fully repaired. Authorities have opened a route through Nevada's Valley of Fire State Park to passenger vehicles detouring around the area. The Nevada Highway Patrol says I-15 passenger vehicles can use Nevada State Route 169.

ELKO, Nev. (AP) — Federal mine safety regulators say Klondex Midas Operations managers are to blame in the death of a worker at an Elko County gold mine because they didn't ensure his workplace was free of dangerous clutter and allowed him to work alone. Klondex officials contest the report's conclusions.
