TOWSON, Md. (AP) — Police in Baltimore County are identifying a Towson University student from New Jersey who died in an off-campus residence.

Police identified the student Monday as 18-year-old Julia Margaret Ratnaraj. Police say they were called to the 300 block of East Joppa Road around 11:30 p.m. Saturday. When officials arrived on the scene they found Ratnaraj unresponsive. She was later declared deceased at a hospital.

Police say they were told that Ratnaraj had been drinking. She was from Sewell, New Jersey. A spokeswoman for the university says she was a freshman. It was not clear if the location where Ratnaraj was found was where she was living.

An autopsy will determine Ratnaraj's cause and manner of death.
