TUSCANY, Italy, Jun 15, 2006 (UPI via COMTEX) -- A previously unknown letter written by "Frankenstein" author Mary Shelley has been discovered at an antiques fair in Tuscany, Italy.
Antique collector Jacopo Bojola found the authenticated letter last year. The letter was written nine months after the death of Shelley's husband -- poet Percy Bysshe Shelley -- and addressed to family friend, Captain Daniel Roberts, ANSA reports.
In the letter, Shelley talks primarily of friends and their problems, but her grief over her husband's death is recognizable as she reportedly refers to her home in Albaro as a "temple of solitude."
Many of Shelley's other letters have been published, and plans have been made to publish this most recent one in Washington University Professor Betty Bennet's upcoming biography on the author.
Bojola has said he plans to keep the original letter as part of his own private collection, ANSA reported.
