KINGSTON, Jamaica (AP) — Jamaican authorities said Monday they have seized a large haul of cocaine hidden in a shipping container at the capital's seaport.

The Jamaican Constabulary Force said in a statement that officers seized 267 pounds (121 kilograms) of packaged cocaine stuffed in black bags among a shipment of lumber.

The shipping container at Kingston's wharves originated in the South American country of Suriname and was destined for China.

Police put the estimated street value of the seized drugs at nearly $1.3 million.

There have been no arrests. Police characterized the bust as "major" and said it was made Sunday during a routine search operation.
