FERGUSON, Mo. (AP) — City leaders in Ferguson, Missouri, are urging residents to stay home after dark tonight to "allow peace to settle in" after repeated clashes between protesters and police. They also are pledging several actions to reconnect with the predominantly black community in the St. Louis suburb where the fatal shooting of Michael Brown has sparked unrest. Meanwhile, the attorney for Brown's family says the 18-year-old's funeral and memorial service will be held Monday.

GAZA CITY, Gaza Strip (AP) — Israeli officials say militants have fired at least 20 rockets into Israeli territory from the Gaza Strip today, including one that set off air raid sirens in Tel Aviv. There have been no reports of injuries. Israel has responded with airstrikes, which Palestinian officials say have intensified throughout the evening. A Palestinian medical official says a 40-year-old woman and a 2-year-old girl have been killed. Israel has withdrawn its delegation from the cease-fire talks in Egypt.

AUSTIN, Texas (AP) — Texas Gov. Rick Perry's office said the Republican will turn himself in to authorities this evening to be booked on two felony counts of abuse of power. His attorneys and the special prosecutor in charge of the case have said he will be fingerprinted and have his mug shot taken. Perry has dismissed the case as a political ploy, laughing off concerns that it could be unflattering as he considers a second presidential run.

NEW YORK (AP) — The stock market's summer swoon appears to be over for now. The S&P 500 closed within six points of its all-time high today, less than two weeks after slumping on concerns about rising tensions in Iraq and Ukraine. The S&P gained nearly 10 points to finish at 1,981.60. The index is up 1.4 percent for the week. The Dow rose 80 to 16,919, while the Nasdaq composite climbed 19 to 4,527.

CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) — A Powerball ticket sold in West Virginia that was worth $1 million has gone unclaimed. A West Virginia Lottery spokesman says no one stepped forward by the Aug. 11 deadline. Ticketholders have 180 days from the drawing date to claim their prizes. The spokesman says the retailer will still receive a $10,000 bonus for selling the ticket.
