LAS VEGAS (AP) — A judge set $50,000 bail and ordered house arrest for a former Nevada state assemblyman Steven Brooks. The charges stem from allegations that he tried to grab a police officer's gun during a domestic dispute call in February 2013. He also is being held on $100,000 bail on a separate firearms charge stemming from a January 2013 arrest.
LAS VEGAS (AP) — The Clark County Commission has approved a zoning change for a proposed 22,000-seat sports arena on the Las Vegas strip. The 27-acre site is on Las Vegas Boulevard, just south of Sahara Avenue. Commissioners say they're concerned about possible traffic problems from the arena. Developer Jackie Robinson says the $1.3 billion project will be privately funded.
CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) — The Nevada Supreme Court has upheld a judge's order for Las Vegas Sands attorneys to produce unredacted documents in an ongoing civil lawsuit filed by the ousted former chief of the company's Macau operations. The court ruled that parties in a lawsuit can't cite foreign countries' privacy laws to avoid complying with a Nevada court order.
LAS VEGAS (AP) — The producer of a shuttered Las Vegas Strip show that featured circus-style after-dinner performances is accusing the casino-hotel that hosted it of sabotaging its short life. "Vegas Nocturne" producer Spiegelworld CSC alleges in a breach-of-contract lawsuit filed Wednesday that The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas failed to pay severance to show employees and attempting to block the show from moving.
