HOMEWOOD, Ala. (AP) — Police say a college student reported missing in metro Birmingham was last seen around the airport in Huntsville.

Homewood police say 20-year-old Elizabeth Koury left her parents' home for class at the University of Alabama at Birmingham on Friday.

But Koury apparently left her car in Birmingham and took a taxi cab to Huntsville, where she was last seen about 1:15 p.m. Friday near the airport.

Police say they are trying to determine whether Koury boarded a flight.

Authorities say Koury was last seen wearing a red T-shirt, blue jeans and blue glasses, but police say she may have switched to contact lenses.

Homewood police issued an alert for Koury on Monday.
