LAS VEGAS (AP) — Police say a suspect and a home invasion victim died following a morning crime spree in Las Vegas. Police say it began when a man and woman carjacked a freeway service vehicle and drove to a neighborhood, where they burst into two homes, shooting or stabbing three people. Police shot the male suspect and arrested the woman.
HENDERSON, Nev. (AP) — Henderson police say officers shot and killed a suspect after the man became belligerent and stabbed an officer. A city spokeswoman says two officers stopped the man while he was riding a bike at about 3:30 this morning. The officer who was stabbed was expected to be released from the hospital today. It's not known what prompted the officers to stop the man.
LAS VEGAS (AP) — Water service has been restored to most customers in the Mount Charleston area after flooding damaged water mains yesterday. The Las Vegas Valley Water District says dozens of customers lost service, but repairs had restored the flow for all but 17 customers by this afternoon.
LAS VEGAS (AP) — The suspect arrested in an armed robbery at the Bellagio casino has been identified as a 34-year-old Kansas man with a criminal record who skipped out on his parole in May. The Clark County Detention Center's website identified him today as Scott Carmitchel after he made an initial court appearance and his bail was set at $84,000.
