JERUSALEM (AP) — As fighting rages in Gaza, there's also an increasing amount of unrest in the West Bank. A hospital official in the city of Nablus says two Palestinian men were shot and killed today in the northern village of Hawara. And a hospital in Hebron in the southern West Bank says a man was shot and killed in a nearby village, where witnesses say Israeli troops had clashed with Palestinian protesters. Israeli authorities say they're looking into the report.

KHARKIV, Ukraine (AP) — More remains of victims from the Malaysia Airlines flight that was shot down over eastern Ukraine have left Ukraine for the Netherlands, where they will be identified. There's still been no announcement of any large-scale deployment of experts and security personnel to the crash site, which is still largely unsecured. Four Australian and three Dutch investigators walked today among the widely-scattered plane parts near two grazing cows.

WASHINGTON (AP) — One of President Barack Obama's top advisers says the White House takes seriously the possibility that House Republicans could pursue impeachment of the president. Senior White House adviser Dan Pfeiffer told reporters today that the GOP has already "opened the door for impeachment" by contemplating suing the president over his use of executive authority. He says that any further executive action Obama may sign this year on immigration will "up the likelihood" of Republicans pursuing that path.

DARBY, Pa. (AP) — A man who authorities say fatally shot a caseworker at a hospital complex near Philadelphia and was then shot by his psychiatrist remains in critical condition. Prosecutors say Richard Plotts is expected to be arraigned on murder charges today in his hospital room. Authorities are trying to determine more about the relationship between Dr. Lee Silverman and Plotts, including whether the doctor had reason to fear him and why the doctor had a gun. Silverman suffered a minor wound. Hospital policy bars anyone but on-duty law enforcement officers from carrying a weapon.

DETROIT (AP) — A judge is refusing to increase the sentences for two men who participated in a mob attack on a Detroit-area motorist in April. Steve Utash was severely beaten when he got out of his pickup truck to help a boy who had darted in front of the vehicle. Utash was in a coma after the beating. Five people pleaded guilty to assault. James Davis must serve a year in jail, although he can be released during the day for a job. Latrez Cummings is serving six months in jail. Prosecutors lost their bid today for tougher sentences.
