This is Chris Redgrave for Zions Bank Speaking on Business.
It's hard to believe but research shows that the words you speak comprise only seven percent of your daily communication. And what about the other 93 percent? It's communicated 36 percent through tone and 57 percent through body language. So, what is your body language saying? This is an important skill set the folks at 3 Key Elements in South Jordan are teaching.
Founder Kirk Duncan says it's all about finding and developing this line of skills. They can help you discover what you're already doing well and take it to the next level. Their classes help people of all ages see how body language affects personal interactions. By focusing on areas where you struggle, they can help you develop a new skill set.
It all comes down to three key areas — Educating, Motivating and Empowering people to reach their potential. This is how they bring their message home.
Three Key Elements officially launched in 2009 but its genesis happened almost 10 years ago. Studying body language became Kirk's way out of a desperate situation where he was about to lose his job. His boss told him something was missing, and Kirk needed to figure out what it was. During a lunch appointment with a sales prospect, he noticed that what the prospect was saying and what his hands were doing didn't match. In pointing it out, he ended up getting the account. That saved his job and gave birth to a new passion.
Today, 3 Key Elements has a national following with people flying in from across the U.S. to attend their training sessions. Their office is in South Jordan but the company often uses the Salt Palace Convention Center and South Towne Expo Center to hold classes, which attract up to 900 people, depending on the training. Even teens attend training sessions and use the information to recognize danger signs and help friends.
