JERUSALEM (AP) — Israel's prime minister is brushing off questions about a cease-fire in Gaza. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu says Israel will end its offensive when its goals are realized. He says "the overriding goal is to restore the peace and quiet." Israel says the offensive is a response to weeks of rocket fire from the Gaza Strip. Meanwhile, the official Palestinian count of the dead in Gaza has passed 100, including dozens of civilians.

UNITED NATIONS (AP) — The Palestinians and their international supporters are circulating a draft U.N. resolution that would condemn all violence against civilians in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and call for "an immediate, durable and fully respected cease-fire." The draft doesn't mention Hamas' firing of rockets into Israel, which is likely unacceptable to the U.S.

ENTIAT, Wash. (AP) — Fire officials say a central Washington wildfire has burned across nearly 32 square miles of grass and brush. The Mills Canyon fire is 22 percent contained, with more than 760 firefighters on the lines Friday. The blaze has threatened more than 200 homes and damaged a few outbuildings near Entiat, roughly midway between Seattle and Spokane.

TOKYO (AP) — A magnitude-6.8 earthquake has hit Japan's northern coast near the nuclear power plant crippled in the 2011 tsunami. At least one person was injured and a small tsunami was triggered, but no damage has been reported. The Nuclear Regulation Authority says the Fukushima Dai-ichi (foo-koo-SHEE'-mah dy-EE'-chee) plant and other nuclear facilities along the coast have found no abnormalities.

TRENTON, N.J. (AP) — Tracy Morgan is suing Wal-Mart over last month's crash on the New Jersey Turnpike that seriously injured him and killed fellow comedian James McNair. The lawsuit claims Wal-Mart was negligent when a driver of one of its tractor-trailers rammed into Morgan's limousine bus. Morgan suffered a broken leg and broken ribs in the crash.
