MONROE, La. (AP) — Fifty-one students from around the South have moved into the dorms at the University of Louisiana in Monroe for the weeklong President's Academy.
The college-preparatory program is an annual event at ULM. Participants are selected from applicants based on their high school grade point averages and ACT scores.
President Nick Bruno tells KNOE-TV (http://bit.ly/1smVbhc) that the academy is a good recruiting tool for the university.
Faculty members welcomed the prospective students Sunday with a reception.
