BOZEMAN, Mont. (AP) — The Bozeman School District has closed a $1.1 million deal to purchase 37 acres of land as a possible site for a second high school.
Voters in May approved buying the land on the western edge of the city.
Bozeman High School had more than 1,900 students enrolled last fall. The school district's plan for many years has been to build a second high school when enrollment reaches 2,400. Superintendent Rob Watson says that is expected to happen in five or six years.
The Bozeman Daily Chronicle reports (http://bit.ly/1o8sYXk) the school district also sold the East Willson School to a developer for $334,000. Bridger Builders plans to turn it into condominiums.
