RENO, Nev. (AP) — Bail has been set at $500,000 for a Reno-area teenager charged with fatally shooting his father.
KOLO-TV reports (http://bit.ly/1oZSj7M ) 19-year-old Brandon Moore-Montgomery remained in the Washoe County jail after Friday's bail hearing.
His father, 45-year-old Jeffery Montgomery, suffered multiple gunshot wounds in his home in the Reno suburb of Spanish Springs on June 12.
The son surrendered at the county jail two days later after being identified as the suspect.
He was first charged with attempted murder, but the charge was upgraded to open murder after his father died several days later.
Detectives have not released information about a possible motive.
