LEWISTON, Idaho (AP) — Nez Perce Tribal Police say a 27-year-old man whose body was found near a crashed van at the bottom of a canyon near Kamiah likely died in the crash.
Tribal Police Chief David Rogers says the body of Eldon J. Farris of Kamiah was found on June 21, two weeks after he was last seen.
Officers were searching for Farris when they received a report of a van that crashed into a canyon about seven miles northeast of Kamiah. Because of what appeared to be suspicious circumstances, tribal police notified the FBI and the case was investigated as a homicide.
Rogers tells the Lewiston Tribune (http://bit.ly/1ocVfNM ) that autopsy found Farris died of injuries consistent with a vehicle crash.
