PROVO, Utah (AP) — A Utah doctor convicted last year of killing his wife is due to stand trial this week on a sex assault charge stemming from allegations he abused a woman more than seven years ago. Martin MacNeill is scheduled for trial Wednesday and Thursday in Provo. The Daily Herald reports that prosecutors want to present evidence that MacNeill committed other sex crimes in California.

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Hundreds of people, including some who brought their pets, rallied outside Salt Lake City police headquarters, seeking answers from the department about an officer who fatally shot a dog in a backyard while searching for a missing child.
