WASHINGTON (AP) — The Libyan militant accused of masterminding the deadly 2012 Benghazi attacks is the most recent foreign terror suspect to be prosecuted in American courts. Ahmed Abu Khattala (hah-TAH'-lah) appeared in a Washington, D.C., federal court today. He pleaded not guilty to a terrorism-related charge nearly two weeks after he was captured by U.S. special forces.

MOSCOW (AP) — Four more observers from the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe who'd been held captive by pro-Russian insurgents in Ukraine since the end of May are now free. They were released today in the eastern city of Donetsk. . Four members of another OSCE observer team were freed earlier this week.

BAGHDAD (AP) — Iraqi government troops are trying to recapture ground lost to Sunni militants. Soldiers backed by tanks and helicopter gunships are trying to retake the northern city of Tikrit. Meanwhile, Iraqi officials say heavy clashes between security forces and Sunni insurgents south of Baghdad have killed at least 21 troops and dozens of militants.

NEW YORK (AP) — Immigration reform activists say they're tired of waiting for Congress to act and hundreds of them have been protesting outside a federal building in New York City. They say deportations are breaking up families and children are losing parents. House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi said today there's little hope Congress will pass comprehensive immigration reform this year.

NEW CASTLE, Del. (AP) — The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating the crash of a small plane shortly after takeoff from an airport in Delaware. The FAA says the Cessna 172 crashed in a marsh about five miles southeast of New Castle Airport this morning. The pilot had reported engine problems before the crash. The two people aboard the plane were rescued
