LAS VEGAS (AP) — Electric bills are going down slightly next week for NV Energy customers in southern Nevada.
The Las Vegas Review-Journal reports (http://bit.ly/URNkNy) that that the average residential bill will go down by $1.35 a month starting in July. The change is the result of an agreement between NV Energy, the Public Utilities Commission and the state Bureau of Consumer Protection.
NV Energy had initially requested a statewide rate hike that would have increased bills by about 0.39 percent. The agreement lowers the rates by about 0.88 percent in southern Nevada starting July 1.
The proposal was approved Wednesday.
