IOWA CITY, Iowa (AP) — The president of the Iowa City Community School Board has resigned from the board.

The Iowa City Press-Citizen says (http://icp-c.com/1lb4bjJ ) Sally Hoelscher announced her resignation in an email to fellow board members late Tuesday.

Hoelscher was elected to the board in 2011 and elected board president in September 2013.

The district is expected to release more information on Wednesday.
