LOS ANGELES (AP) — A Los Angeles appellate court has upheld a $19 million judgment against "Girls Gone Wild" founder Joe Francis in a slander case filed over his claims that casino mogul Steve Wynn threatened to kill him. After a 2012 trial, a jury found that Francis' statements about threats were defamatory. Francis said he will appeal the ruling.

LAS VEGAS (AP) — Authorities in Las Vegas say it will take several weeks to determine the causes of death of two Electric Daisy Carnival fans in separate incidents during the weekend. Clark County Coroner Michael Murphy says medical examiners will need the results of blood toxicology tests to determine how 25-year-old Anthony Anaya and 24-year-old Montgomery Tsang died.

RENO, Nev. (AP) — Reno police are investigating a fatal accident that claimed the life of a 77-year-old bicyclist north of the city. Patrick Gavin of Reno was struck by an SUV while he was riding a bicycle Friday night. Investigators tell KTVN-TV the driver was not injured and she is cooperating with detectives. Police say neither speed nor alcohol appear to have played a role in the crash.

RENO, Nev. (AP) — A 19-year-old Spanish Springs man has been charged with murder in the shooting of his father. Washoe County sheriff's deputies say they filed an open murder charge today against Brandon Moore-Montgomery. His father, 45-year-old Jeffery Montgomery, died a week after the shooting and the charges against his son were upgraded.
