TOOELE- Rob MacCachren, Kyle LeDuc and Sheldon Creed were the big winners on the final day of the first major event of the 2014 season at Miller Motorsports Park, as the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series made its fifth annual visit to Utah for Rounds 7 and 8 of the 15-round 2014 championship.

MacCachren was the day's first victor as the action opened with a furious race in the Pro 2 class, taking the checkered flag just 1.32 seconds ahead of Bryce Menzies, with Saturday's winner and class points leader Brian Deegan taking the final podium spot. Motocross legend Jeremy McGrath and Rodrigo Ampudia filled out the top five. Polesitter R.J. Anderson led the early going, but was passed by a charging MacCachren after a mid-race restart and then a cut tire spoiled his chances for the remainder of the race.

In the Pro Lite class, points leader and recent X Games silver medalist Sheldon Creed took his second win of the season, leading flag to flag and edging Deegan at the checkers by a razor-thin 0.27 second. Ryan Beat came home third, followed by Jimmy Fishback and Kyle Hart. Riverton's Aaron Daugherty came home 13th, with fellow Utah drivers Ron Duncombe and Justin Peck finishing 16th and 17th, respectively.

Kyle LeDuc is apparently unstoppable in the Pro 4 class this year, padding his championship lead with his seventh win in eight races to date. He fought his way through the pack after an uncharacteristic poor qualifying performance and checked out on the field once he got to the front. Another motocross legend, Ricky Johnson, took second ahead of MacCachren, who came back from a mid-race rollover, as the top three mirrored the current point standings. Doug Fortin and Todd LeDuc rounded out the top five. Local favorite Jerry Daugherty of Riverton fell out of the race with three laps to go and was scored ninth.

The Pro Buggy winner was Kevin McCullough, taking his second win of the season over points leader Chad George and Eric Fitch. In the support classes, Brock Heger was the winner in the Mod Kart class, while Bryan Morris won the in the Junior 1 karts and Dylan Plemons was first to the flag in Junior 2 karts.

The action at Miller Motorsports Park switches to road racing next weekend, June 28-29, as the Utah Region of the National Auto Sport Association will hold Round 4 of their six-round 2014 championship on the East Road Course. They will be joined by the PamAm Formula 3 Championship. Meanwhile, the Utah Sport Bike Association's Vortex Masters of the Mountains series will contest the third round of their six-round title chase on the West Road Course. In addition, Miller Kart Track will host the Rotax Summer Shootout, a warm-up event for the upcoming Rotax MAX U.S. Grand Nationals scheduled for July 19-20. Tickets will be priced at only $6 per day for adults, with kids 12 and under admitted free of charge.
