BAGHDAD (AP) — Sunni insurgents in Iraq now control two border crossings, one with Jordan and another with Syria. Their capture follows the fall on Friday and Saturday of the towns of Qaim (kym), Rawah (RAY'-wah), Anah and Rutba They're all in the Sunni dominated Anbar province, where the militants already controlled the city of Fallujah and parts of the provincial capital Ramadi.

CAMARILLO, Calif. (AP) — The price at the gas pump is rising. The Lundberg Survey says the average price of a gallon of regular gasoline nationwide is up 2 cents in the last two weeks. It's now $3.71. Industry analyst Trilby Lundberg says crude oil prices are rising over jitters about Iraqi oil production as violence there grows. She says has prices could increase over the coming weeks.

ATHENS, Greece (AP) — Greek Coast Guard officials say a nearly 1-ton stash of heroin was discovered in a suburban Athens warehouse. It follows another 1-ton seizure in the Athens area on June 12. The officials say both stashes arrived on a tanker that picked them up in "waters between Oman and Pakistan." Greek authorities were aided by the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration.

NASCHITTI, N.M. (AP) —Crews are gaining the upper hand against a wildfire that's charred more than 22 square miles on the Navajo Nation. Officials say crews have contained 60 percent of the Assayii (UH'-saw-he) Lake Fire. The human-caused fire has been burning for more than a week in mountains just east of the Arizona-New Mexico border.

FILLMORE, Calif. (AP) — A dog belonging to a California firefighter who disappeared during a backpacking trip has been rescued after nine days in the wilderness, but his owner is still missing. The Ventura County sheriff says a rescue effort for Mike Herdman will be scaled back after days of searching the Los Padres National Forest. The dog was found today in a parking lot.
