BOISE, Idaho (AP) — Even if an Idaho work group agrees on how to redesign the state's Medicaid program, members say lawmakers aren't likely to consider the option because "Medicaid expansion" has become a toxic term in the Legislature. The work group reconvened yesterday to reevaluate options on how to offer medical services to low-income adults who don't have health insurance.

BOISE, Idaho (AP) — A federal judge has denied a request by the Idaho Dairymen's Association to join Idaho in defending the recently passed law criminalizing surreptitious recording at agriculture facilities. The Times-News reports that Judge B. Lynn Winmill ruled that the state can represent the dairymen's interests without the group getting involved.

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) — An environmental group wants federal wildlife managers to revise a decades-old recovery plan for grizzly bears to ensure the animal's return to more areas of the West. The Center for Biological Diversity filed its petition yesterday identifying 110,000 square miles in a handful of western states as suitable habitat for the bears. The recovery plan for grizzlies dates back to 1993.

IRVING, Texas (AP) — The Dallas Cowboys have signed defensive end DeMarcus Lawrence, their second-round draft pick and the last of the selections to agree to terms. Lawrence signed a four-year, $5.5 million deal yesterday. The Cowboys traded up to get him with the 34th pick. Lawrence had 20 sacks in two seasons at Boise State.
