WASHINGTON (AP) — The Army says it has begun an investigation of the disappearance and capture of Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl in Afghanistan in 2009. An Army statement says it appointed a two-star general to head the investigation. It said he will not interview Bergdahl until those who are currently helping Bergdahl recover from his five years of captivity say it is all right to do so.

JACKSON, Wyo. (AP) — Authorities say a 52-year-old Wyoming man was killed when he was apparently bucked off his horse near his home north of Jackson last weekend. The Teton County Sheriff says a search was launched after the horse came home without its owner, Bob Knori. Search crews found Knori and he was flown to a hospital in Idaho Falls where he was pronounced dead.

BOISE, Idaho (AP) — Idaho is starting the process of taking over wastewater permitting from the EPA, under a law that quietly cleared the Idaho Legislature earlier this year. The Spokesman-Review reports the change means Idaho will have to add an estimated 25 employees to the state Department of Environmental Quality over the next eight years.

TWIN FALLS, Idaho (AP) — A 38-year-old Twin Falls man and his 17-year-old son are each blaming the other for a pharmacy robbery. The Times-News reports Dana Merrick and his son were charged Friday for the March 10 robbery of a Kmart pharmacy. Court records say Merrick told police he went to Kmart with his son but didn't know the robbery was going to take place. The teen told officers his father told him to rob the pharmacy.
