SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — A hearing resumes today with an officer testifying about the initial questioning of a Salt Lake City pediatrician accused of killing his ex-wife. Defense attorney Fred Metos argues the statements to police made by John Brickman Wall should not be admitted into court. Last month, another police detective testified that Wall expressed surprise he was not arrested the night Uta Von Schwedler's body was found.
SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — A Utah judge is set to discuss the progress of forming a board that would oversee the redistribution of about 750 homes and parcels of property in Warren Jeffs' polygamous sect on the Utah-Arizona border. The homes have been tied up in the courts since they was seized by Utah in 2005 over allegations of mismanagement.
SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — A teenage girl charged with aggravated murder in a Utah crime spree that claimed the lives of a deputy and her boyfriend wants her case moved. Megan Grunwald's attorneys argue in a new filing that heavy news coverage painting the deputy as a hero makes it unlikely she'd get a fair trial in Utah County. Prosecutors say Grunwald and her boyfriend Jose Garcia-Jauregui went on a 50-mile crime spree in which Utah County sheriff's Sgt. Cory Wride was killed and deputy Greg Sherwood was wounded.
SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Utah resorts say more skiers and snowboarders visited this year for the second consecutive season. Ski Utah says the 4.1 million day visits during the 2013-2014 season marks a nearly 4 percent increase from the year before. The visits came during a below average year for snowfall in the state.
