LAS VEGAS (AP) — An attorney says a Henderson personal injury lawyer is suffering from the effects of a stroke he had just weeks before he was arrested on felony allegations that he stole almost $500,000 from client settlements.

William K. Errico stood in shackles Tuesday while his attorney, William Terry, told Las Vegas Justice of the Peace Deborah Lippis that Errico needs medical treatment.

The Las Vegas Review-Journal reports (http://bit.ly/1otUOz7 ) the judge scheduled a June 17 status check in the case.

Terry said Errico planned to post $100,000 bail to be freed from jail.

Prosecutor J.P. Raman indicated he was satisfied the bail money wasn't coming from Errico's clients' funds.

The 53-year-old Errico was arrested last week on felony charges including theft, exploitation of the elderly and exploitation of a vulnerable person.
