For over 90 years Primary Children's Hospital have touched the hearts of many children and families. This weekend is the Primary Children's telethon.

FACTS ABOUT THE HOSPITAL

- For over 90 years, Primary Children's Hospital has served children from the Intermountain area without regard to race, religion or ability to pay

- Primary Children's serves the largest geographical area in the US (Utah, Idaho, Wyoming, Montana and Nevada)

- Almost everyone in the area has had their lives touched by having a child as a patient or knowing someone close who has been a patient at PCH

- Every single penny collected at the Telethon (as well as all fundraisers throughout the year) goes toward charity care for children (there are no administrative costs)

- Last year the hospital expended almost $13.2 million to cover over 9,000 hospital visits by needy children. Physicians donate their expertise for charity patients

- The hospital is one of only 50 free-standing, full- service pediatric hospitals in the US and is the 15th largest

- PCH is among the top ten hospitals for level of acuity (most critically ill) in the nation, yet has the lowest charge per case

- The most popular flavor of anesthetic requested at Primary Children's is bubble gum

- The favorite day for children to be in the hospital is Wednesday, because that day children get to play "Hospital Bingo" and every child wins a prize

- Primary Children's cares for children ages newborn to 21. The average age for patients is 7 years old.

- Children can have room service 24/7. The hospital will fix anything they want to eat, anytime of the day or night

- Hospital Motto: "The Child First and Always"
