SPRING CREEK, Nev. (AP) — State troopers say alcohol might have played a factor in a crash on a northeastern Nevada road that killed four people on Tuesday night. The Nevada Highway Patrol tell the Elko Daily Free Press that troopers found alcohol in the car that slammed into an SUV, and they suspect the driver of the car was impaired. The crash killed two people in the car and two others in the SUV, one of them a 5-year-old child.

WICKENBURG, Ariz. (AP) — U.S. 93 has partially reopened in west-central Arizona after a closure in both directions because of a fatal two-vehicle accident involving a tractor-trailer rig. Authorities say vehicles are sharing a lane on the highway, which is the main route between Phoenix and Las Vegas.

CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) — Secret Witness is offering a $1,500 reward for the arrest and prosecution of suspects who robbed a 101-year-old Carson City veteran at his home over the Memorial Day weekend. Authorities say the robbers forced their way into the home of World War II Air Force veteran Jim Sorentino early Sunday.

LAS VEGAS (AP) — A 31-year-old Las Vegas mother of three accused of shooting her 11-year-old son told police she also planned to kill herself but her brother-in-law grabbed the rifle from her. Shavon Carrillo is due before a judge today for an initial appearance. Police say the boy remains in critical condition at a Las Vegas hospital.
