BENSALEM, Pa. (AP) — A suburban Philadelphia man has been ordered to stand trial on homicide and assisted suicide charges in the death of his mother, who was killed by carbon monoxide from a portable generator.

The (Doylestown) Intelligencer (http://bit.ly/1jw6psY ) reports that a district judge on Wednesday held 30-year-old Koustantinos Yiambilis of Bensalem for trial in Bucks County Court. He is charged with criminal homicide, risking a catastrophe, reckless endangerment and the newly added count of causing or aiding in suicide.

Police said reports of fumes brought them to Longmeadow Apartments on April 7, where they found 59-year-old Karen Yiambilis, who was pronounced dead.

Defense attorney William Goldman Jr. said he was disappointed that the homicide charge remained. He said his client had survived "a double attempted suicide."
