1 dead in Las Vegas apartment courtyard shooting

LAS VEGAS (AP) — Police say a man is dead and his assailant is being sought after a shooting several blocks east of the Las Vegas Strip.

Officers responding to a report of gunshots found the man dead with a gunshot wound to the head about 3 p.m. Wednesday at the complex on Lisbon Avenue, not far from Maryland Parkway and Desert Inn Road.

The victim's name wasn't immediately made public.

Witnesses told investigators the man was involved in an argument in the courtyard and ran into the street before he was shot.

No information was immediately disclosed about the shooter.
