This is Chris Redgrave for Zions Bank Speaking on Business.
When taking care of their car, people want to know they'll be treated honestly and fairly. That's why it's so critical to find a car repair shop you can trust. This is the culture Joshua Wahlstrom is working to establish at Farmington Service and Towing in Farmington.
Josh is the second generation to run this business, following in the footsteps of his dad, Ken. Farmington Service and Towing is celebrating their 30th anniversary this week and is well known in the local community, with some customer base in surrounding areas of Davis County. They're proud to serve all makes and models, and offer services from oil changes to timing belts, engine repair and roadside towing assistance. And there is additional pride in being able to work on older cars.
An essential focus for Farmington Service and Towing is giving power back to the customer through education. This means every service or repair need is carefully explained to the customer, so they understand exactly what is needed to fix the car and can choose what they want done. This is critically important for their female customer base which continues to grow. Josh, Ken and their small team of employees will make sure customers understand what they're doing and why before they do it.
When Kent first started the business in 1985, it was a gas station and quick lube. But as the business grew, so did his idea of how he wanted it to operate. Josh came on board a couple years ago after he graduated with a business management and accounting degree. At that point, his dad was already working to scale Farmington Service and Towing, so Josh jumped right in and continued his vision. They recently launched their digital application and are watching it help grow their business.
As the manager for Farmington Service and Towing, Josh, along with Ken still both do part-time tech work. They also offer diagnostics for any symptom your car experiences including dash lights and any required repair work, with the exception of exhaust systems.
For Zions Bank, I'm Chris Redgrave, speaking on business.
