YONKERS, N.Y. (AP) — School bus drivers in several Westchester County districts are set to go on strike.

Transport Workers Union Local 100 says it will go on strike against the bus company Mile Square starting Monday.

Mile Square transports all bused students to the Mount Vernon schools and about half the students in New Rochelle and Yonkers.

Yonkers and Mount Vernon district officials are urging parents to make alternative plans for getting their children to school Monday.

A spokeswoman for the New Rochelle district tells the Journal News (http://lohud.us/1nUa7UR ) that a plan to deal with the strike will be made public later this weekend.

The union says the 550 Mile Square workers it represents have been without a contract and without a raise for five years.

Picket lines are planned for several locations.
