PALMER, Alaska (AP) — The general manager of the Alaska State Fair has announced his retirement.
Fair officials say Ray Ritari will retire when his contract expires in November. Ritari has spent nearly 40 years in the public event industry in Alaska, Washington state, Idaho and Wisconsin.
Fair Board President John Harkey says Ritari is a great leader and he will be sorely missed.
Ritari says he and his wife, Pat, will be able to pursue interests they have put aside during their busy working careers.
Fair officials say a nationwide search will be conducted to replace him.
