EAST LANSING, Mich. (AP) — A suspect has been arrested in the fatal shooting of two people at different locations near the Michigan State University campus in East Lansing.
Police say the arrest followed a standoff Monday afternoon. A campus alert has been lifted and normal operations at the school resumed about 1:15 p.m.
The first shooting occurred just after 11 a.m. Monday in a Rite Aid store at Frandor Shopping Center in Lansing Township, just west of the school.
Lansing police officer Robert Merritt says the victim was a 35-year-old man.
The second shooting was reported minutes later, northeast of the campus in East Lansing.
