LAS VEGAS (AP) — A woman testifying today in the murder trial in Las Vegas said she was stunned when the defendant told her a large plastic tub of cement he wanted to store at her house contained the remains of his ex-girlfriend. Kalae Casorso testified today in the trial of Jason Griffith, who is charged in the death of Deborah Flores Narvaez.
LAS VEGAS (AP) — Police are investigating the shooting death of a 24-year-old man in a northwest Las Vegas parking lot last night. Investigators say Dan Archie was seen with three other men in the parking lot when an argument broke out and shots were fired. Police say they haven't identified any suspects in the case and a motive for the shooting is unknown.
LAS VEGAS (AP) — Station Casinos saw its best quarter since 2009 as Las Vegas' economy recovers and as Station's casinos benefit from strong convention business on the Strip. The Las Vegas Review-Journal reports net income for the quarter ending March 31 was $15 million. That's a turnaround from the same time last year, when the chain lost $141 million.
RENO, Nev. (AP) — A Nevada inmate who says he practices Satanism is suing the state saying they don't provide him with the proper meals to meet the strict died of his pagan religion. Alex Snelson is serving a two to six year sentence for possession of a stolen car. One of the foods he says his religion requires is ice cream.
